The Silent Night Movie

Here's a little movie my friends and I made over the summer. I did the filming and editing, which took awhile. Viewer discretion is advised.

Silent Night (2012)
Horror, Mystery, Thriller

It all started when the power goes out at a party.

For an ordinary group of friends, it was just a Friday night. A night which meant partying, drinking, and fun. Then their night took a turn for the worse when they find each other brutally killed, one by one. They split up into groups in an attempt to flee the house, but the killer doesn't agree. He savagely hunts them down, person by person, killing them all in ravage ways.

How will they escape? Who's the killer? Is it one of the friends?

Last Track Meet of The Season, County Var. B's

My last event of the season.  I improved my time from 33.2 to 29.8 in the 200m.  They put me in the 400m today also, but it was interesting because I missed the first call at check-in officials moved me to the fastest heat, so it actually ended up being me and another Sherwood runner, about my speed in the fastest heat, with people who run 46 in the 400m compared to us around 70, so it was interesting!  I think I might try med-distance next season, where I might feel more comfortable.

ZionCheck - A Family Card Game!

Zioncheck is a great card game, and it's really fun! But a problem has been found and we need your say on what to do! There are four options, maybe more, if someone is caught overbuying.  As of now there is no official punishment for overbuying.  For those of you who aren't familiar with this game, it is similar to Phase 10 or Shanghai Rummy.  You are only supposed to buy/purchase cards 3 times per round, and if more than one person wants the card it goes to the next closest person clockwise.  The problem that arises is what if someone over buys?  It doesn't happen all that much, but when it does the punishment is unclear, and it causes a big disruption to the game.   So there are four options that hopefully could work and be fair.  Please leave a comment on which one you think is fair and would work the best!  If you have a suggestion, or if I forgot something please say it too.  Thanks so much.
Possible Overbuying Punishment Options

#1 The over buyer receives 100pts and their number of buys becomes limited to 2 per round
#2 The over buyer receives 75pts and their number of buys becomes limited to 1 per round
#3 The over buyer is punished with 150pts, can't lay cards down and CAN buy the rest of the game
#4 The over buyer is disqualified
#5 (Zsa Zsa Rule): Overbuyer should get 150 points, CAN lay cards down and CAN continue to buy three times during remainder of game. Z
#6 (Papa's): At the beginning of each hand, each player takes three poker chips or pennies. With every purchase, the player must place one chip in center of table BEFORE placing purchased card in his hand. P

Off to a Good Start

Track & Field begins! I had my first official track meet yesterday.  It was a home meet against Springbrook High School.  I ran two events, the 100m and 200m.  I did ok for starting out, I will put my times up when they give us the meet results!  So pretty good for kicking it off, in sprinting events!  I can't wait to improve throughout this whole season.  Ill be sure to post again with our next meets.

"A goal without a plan is just a wish" - Positive Posting 4 the better

Life moves fast and if you don't stop to enjoy it once in a while you'll miss everything.  People will end up growing up and looking back, maybe regretting things they have done and wishing to have done something sooner.  This is why it is very important to stay positive.  Positive thinking is contagious and will benefit the people you interact with, and everything you do.  Lately I've been feeling surrounded by nastiness and negative attitudes, it's mall things that everyone sees, yet probably ignore.  For example, if you turn on the news or just read articles you'll quickly become aware of events that happen everyday, and you'll probably see what I mean. With a little focus on changing how we act, everyone could make things better.  Now shifting to a more positive tone!  I've decided to try to become a more positive enjoyable person, and I think everyone should too.  A simple compliment or smile can go a long way.  Doing something nice for someone you don't even know, and talking with stronger word choice to be optimistic, everything will result in a positive more good-humored attitude.

Positive Thinking Your Key to Success

Always use only positive words while thinking and while talking. Use words such as, 'I can', 'I am able', 'it is possible', 'it can be done', etc.  Allow into your awareness only feelings of happiness, strength and success.  Try to disregard and ignore negative thoughts. Refuse to think such thoughts, and substitute them with constructive happy thoughts.  In your conversation use words that evoke feelings and mental images of strength, happiness and success.  Before starting with any plan or action, visualize clearly in your mind its successful outcome. If you visualize with concentration and faith, you will be amazed at the results.  Read at least one page of inspiring book every day.  Watch movies that make you feel happy.  Minimize the time you listen to the news and read the papers.  Associate yourself with people who think positively.  Always sit and walk with your back straight. This will strengthen your confidence and inner strength.  Walk, swim or engage in some other physical activity. This helps to develop a more positive attitude

Mail, Mail, Mail!

Ever wonder how much of your mail is actually personal? It's around 3.8%! You'll also be surprised that junk mail "advertising"  only makes up 8.1% of your total! (Seems more like 30% to me!)

Track and Field begins

Track and field began last Thursday along with all other Spring tryouts.  It's looking like it will be a good season.  Can't wait for the first meet.  It's a few weeks into track and our first scrimmage was Saturday.  I was in three events, the 100m, 400m, and 4x400 relay, all the sprinting events I thought were hard.  I will be with the sprint and hurdle group and will most likely continue working on improving times for the 100 or 400.  I hope to maybe try the 800 too!

First semester exams finished after a long week

Last Friday was my first high school exam ever.  I started off exam week with H. Spanish 2, then followed by a three day weekend.  After the short break, on Tuesday I took the H. US History exam, and got to leave early, right after the History exam, because I didn't have an exam for my fourth period class.  Wednesday was the hardest day for sure, with both H. English 9 and H. Geometry.  Followed by an easier Thursday with only the H. Biology exam left.

The hardest for me was definitely English.  Not because I'm not the biggest fan of reading, well thats part of it, but it's how you only get two hours and they expect you to read two short stories, two poems, answer 40 SR questions, write a short BCR response and compose a four paragraph essay.  So with not much time, and it going so fast, it was very stressful, but before I new it, it was over.  I felt confident going into the exams that I would do well, because of reviewing and studying material before hand.  This first exam week has done a good job introducing me to what the end of each semester will be like for the next four years... A lot of stress.  That pretty much sums this up!
